New Tradition's roots were established during Debra and Jim's newlywed days in the Raleigh area. While Jim earned engineering degrees at N.C. State University, Debra was the "right hand woman" in charge of the office for a home builder in Cary. After moving to Charlotte and starting their family, Debra pursued her dream of having a construction business of her own. After completing a variety of community college courses in home building, and with Jim's encouragement, Debra formally entered the home construction arena in 1997. New Tradition Homes quickly made an impact by delivering quality homes to satisfied new homeowners in Weddington, Wesley Chapel, and the Union County area. Jim found his background in engineering and project management to be a natural fit and assisted Debra along the way. Finally, in 2001 Jim joined Debra in a full-time capacity with New Tradition Homes, and together they have set their sights on living up to their motto of "building a new tradition of quality in distinctive homes."
